DataPlay is a Boulder company that is introducing a new form of media for computers and other high-tech gadgets. Its goal is to be among the first to provide a common media card that will work across platforms (digital cameras, PCs, camcorders, MP3 players, etc.). The data cards are about one inch square and wafer-thin, and will 500mb of data (that's 5 of the original ZIP discs, nearly one CD, and 347 floppy floppy discs).
Rather than trying to go for the aftermarket with an add-on data reader that could interface with multiple devices, they are seeking OEMs who will include a DataPlay port in their products. They are trying to line up makers of digital cameras, MP3 plays, etc., that will feature the DataPlay card, which can store files in all the different formats necessary.
One nice thing about buying extra data cards: they will retail for only $10-12.
Your task is to examine this site, and then write a review of the product, as well as a critique of their plan to first seek out the OEM market.
